The Pylon Collection:

As a child, Charlotte was fascinated by the patterns made against the sky by electricity pylons - a way to entertain herself on long car journeys across the countryside. The pylon collection imagines the changing sky looking up through those patterns, reimagined into jewels you can wear.

The Summer Sky Pylon Cufflinks:

These cufflinks are made with sterling silver and 3 shades of blue vitreous enamel. The faces have a diameter of 18mm.

This is a only pair in this colourway and ready to ship in its own presentation box.

Hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay Office.

The Process:

Many processes are gone through to craft these cufflinks. The design is drawn on computer and then etched into the silver. Charlotte then hand-engraves a texture into each recess which will catch the light and add interest through the enamel once fired. Enamel glass is ground up very fine with a pestle and mortar and applied in a fine layer to each recess using very delicate paintbrushes and/or feathers. The piece is then fired in the kiln at up to 1000 degrees centigrade and the enamel process is repeated until each recess is filled. After that the piece is stoned back by rubbing with carborundum stones and running water until level. This is then fired once more in the kiln to restore the shine to the enamel. Finally the piece has the findings soldered on and is polished to a beautiful finish, ready for you to wear.
