FAQs

What is enamel?

Enamel is a form of glass which has been mixed with various metal oxides in order to create a wide range of colours. Enamel has been used in jewellery for thousands of years.

How do I care for my jewellery?

Charlotte only uses precious metals such as fine/sterling silver and gold in her jewellery. All pieces over the weight required by UK law are hallmarked with her personal sponsors mark by the Birmingham assay office.

Enamel: Clean by hand using hot, soapy water and pat dry thoroughly using a soft cloth or tissue. Vitreous enamel is very durable and long lasting. Many ancient enamel pieces have been discovered in archaeological digs still vibrant in colour. However, take care not to drop on any hard surfaces as this could result in damage to the glass surfaces.

Silver: Silver is a natural material which can react with the environment including with chemicals in the air or perfumes and so may tarnish (develop blackened areas) over time. This is easily removed by gently rubbing with a soft jewellery polishing cloth. Silver jewellery needs to be cleaned occasionally and stored correctly to keep it looking lovely.

Storage: Ideally store in a sealed box or ziplock bag to avoid contact with moisture in the air which will allow the silver to tarnish more quickly.

Delivery and Returns

All items are shipped with tracking for your peace of mind. Ready to wear jewels are shipped within 1-2 working days. Please allow longer for made to order jewels, which have timeframe of 1-3 weeks.

Buying things online can unfortunately mean items may not always be as you imagined in real life. I do my best to show items as close to real life in colour and give dimensions but of course, colours for example on computer/phone screens may differ. If you are not happy with your order, this can be returned in unworn condition within 28 days for a refund (minus postage).

Items are sent tracked and signed for. Shipping in the UK is a flat rate of £3 per order.

Shipping is only available for England, Scotland and Wales.
